Delete your account & data
Last updated: July 2026
Pasteable is local-first — your clipboard history lives on your device by default. You can delete your entire account, or just some of your data, at any time without contacting us. This page explains the steps, what is deleted, what we keep, and the retention periods. It is published by Dsignable LLC, the developer of the Pasteable app shown on this store listing.
How to delete your entire account
- Open the Pasteable app and go to Settings → Data.
- Tap Delete account and confirm. This schedules your account for permanent deletion after a 7-day recovery window.
- You can cancel any time before the 7 days elapse by returning to Settings → Data and selecting Cancel deletion. After the window expires, deletion is irreversible.
- If you own a shared board that still has collaborators, you'll be asked to transfer ownership of — or delete — that board first, so a single user can't silently destroy a team's data.
What gets deleted when your account is deleted
- Your clipboard history, both on your devices and in your cloud account.
- Your snippets (text expansions), smart collections, and their memberships.
- Shared boards you own, including their clips, snippets, and member lists, and your membership in other people's boards.
- Your registered devices, sync/E2EE key material, and your user profile.
- Your Firebase Authentication account (you can no longer sign in).
- Any active Pro subscription is set to cancel at the end of its current period so you keep paid access through the recovery window.
What we keep, and for how long
- Payment records are kept for legal and accounting reasons, but pseudonymized — your email and user id are removed; only the financial amounts and timestamps remain.
- Aggregated, anonymous product analytics (not tied to your account) remain, because they no longer identify you.
- Content you shared into someone else's shared board remains in that board (it is controlled by the board's owner). Delete it from the board first if you want it removed before deleting your account.
- Retention: account deletion has a 7-day recoverable grace window, then it is permanent. Apart from deletion, your synced clipboard history is retained per your retention settings (default 90 days or 5,000 items) until you clear it.
Delete data without deleting your account
You can remove some or all of your data at any time without deleting your account:
- Clear clipboard history: Settings → Data → Clear history (removes it from the cloud and from this device).
- Delete individual clips: long-press a clip → Delete (undo within 5 seconds if you change your mind).
- Delete snippets: Settings → Snippets → delete the ones you no longer want.
- Leave a shared board: Shared boards → open the board → Leave board. You stop seeing its content; content you contributed remains for the other members.
- Turn off cloud sync: Settings → Sync. This stops new uploads but does not delete data already in your account — clear history to remove it.
- Automatic retention: Settings → General lets you set a retention window (days and item count) so older history is deleted automatically.
