What’s the Lifetime license?

How does the AI work?
Pasteable is local-first: bring your own key for any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or point it at a local Ollama server and it auto-detects installed models. Ask it to summarize, rewrite, or answer from the search bar — nothing leaves your machine unless you opt in. Pro adds a managed cloud fallback so AI works with zero setup.
What platforms does Pasteable support?
Pasteable runs natively on macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows (10 & 11, 64-bit). Pro adds a mobile companion with a custom keyboard and widget, so your clipboard travels to your phone too. Both desktop builds are available from the download section on this page.
Windows says “Microsoft Defender SmartScreen protected your PC” — is the installer safe?
Yes, the installer is safe. Pasteable is a brand-new app, so Windows shows a temporary SmartScreen warning until it builds reputation with Microsoft. We’re shipping Authenticode-signed builds to clear this automatically. To run it now: click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. On macOS, the first time you open Pasteable, right-click the app and choose Open (or run `xattr -cr` on the .app), then confirm — signed, notarized builds are rolling out to remove this step.
Is my data sent to the cloud?
Only if you choose to. By default, everything stays on your machine in a local SQLite database and works fully offline. If you sign in and enable sync, your clips sync across your devices — end-to-end encrypted — so you can copy on one and paste on another.
How much history does Pasteable keep?
By default, Pasteable keeps the last 90 days and the most recent 5,000 items — whichever is more generous — and it’s fully configurable in Settings. Favorites and pinned clips are never auto-deleted, and removing a favorite gives it a fresh 90-day grace window before it can be cleaned up.
Will it slow down my computer?
No. Pasteable is built for performance: virtualized, paginated lists (it only loads and renders what you scroll to), FTS5 search indexing, batched queries, and minimal background overhead — so it stays fast even with tens of thousands of clips.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Pasteable is offline-first — your history, search, collections, snippets, and local AI all work with no internet connection. Sync simply catches up when you reconnect.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export and import your database, and create backups at any time from Settings. Your data is always yours.
